"Acid Tongue", 85, of Worcester, formerly of Brighton and Needham, died peacefully at Lutheran Rehab & Skilled Care Center in Worcester on Sunday February 12, 2017 while being treated for complications to cancer. Arthur was born and raised in Brighton, son of the late Arthur and Dorothy (Murphy)Carey .

Arthur attended Brighton High School before enlisting in the United States Marine Corp. where he served active duty during the Korean War. After serving his country he became a proud member of Local 103, of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), where he worked for 37 years.  

He was a dear brother to Dorothy (Carey) Darwin and her late husband Richard Darwin of Andover, and survived by many nieces. Husband to the late Barbara (Schoener)Carey , and loving father to John and his wife Colleen Carey of Tacoma WA, Evelyn "Lyn" and her husband Michael Kayiales of Pembroke NH, Dorothy Carey of Brighton/Brookline, and William and his wife Mary Carey of Worcester. Beloved Grandfather "Bumpa" to Vanessa of Newton, Caitlin, and Sean Carey of Tacoma WA, Robert Carey, James Rosenbauer, and Kayla Piccarreto all of Brighton, and Michael, Kyle, Matthew Robinson, and Shane Carey all of Worcester.

Visiting Hours in the Lehman Reen & McNamara Funeral Home Thursday February 16th from 3-7 pm.  Followed by a Prayer Service at 7 pm.  Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.  Interment Private.

Dear Billy,
I am saddened to hear that your father has passed away. May he rest in peace. After knowing him for over twenty years I am very sorry that I did not have a chance to say goodbye.
