My Dear Sweet Aunt Joyce,
You will be missed, your great sense of compassion, but most of all your ability to provide a kick in the ass along with a kiss on the cheek. You lived life as if it was flying by, embracing everything around you as you went..........Alas you knew so much more then all of us.
We love and will always remember you for our lifetimes. Godspeed and keep a watch over us and dont forget......... If you see one of us might need a kick ....Go for it!!!!
Love you Jimmy

To Joyce my dear friend..It has been an honor to know and work with you over these past 10 years. The travel business wasnt always fun, but we got through it ..had some good laughs and managed to keep our heads midst all the flight delays, cancellations and many changes that always seemed to happen. Your smiling face and contagious personality always came through when we worked together and you were never too busy to ask how I was doing and to care about what was going on in my life. What a treasure you are and I miss you very much. Nothing is forgotten and I know heaven has added another angel to its ranks. May God bless you and your family. Love, Kathy Sergi (Travel office for EMC)

Ed, Catherine, David and Christopher and other family members:
Joyce will be missed by all at EMC. She was a very special person. She was caring, understanding, so energetic and had a great senses of humor. She had a way of seeing some humor in almost everything.
We worked together in the Legal Department for many years and shared some very special moments. She will be in my memory forever and I will miss her very much.
Joyce is loved and will be missed by all of us.
My sincere condolences to all of you.

Dear Ed, David, Catherine and Christopher and family,
I am so very saddened to hear the news. Your mom was a very special lady and was always so wonderful to my son -- Jimmy Nolan. She always called him by his full name!
Although we haven't seen each other in some time, we emailed and she always sent me pictures of her grandchildren. Joyce was always so proud of her family and their extended families.
I'll always remember with great job our days together in Bellingham as you kids were growing up and our time together at St. Johnsbury.
My sincere sympathy to all of you.

Mommy,
I miss you more than you can know. I ache for you. My road ahead will be such a trial. I want to fall apart forever but I know you won't let me. All I can hear you saying in my head is, "Catherine, stop crying", but I can't. I love you too much to bear this. Sleep tight tonight. See you tomorrow.

My deepest sympathy to everyone who knew and loved Joyce. I started working at EMC around the same time that Joyce did. I made it a point to see her and Barbara Coluci every morning to start off my day. Barb would tell Joyce and I stories, as only she can tell them, and we would laugh hysterically. When EMC corporate headquarters was moved from Parkwood to 176 South, I was Joyce's co conspirator in the caper to "borrow" some artwork from the executive suite to decorate the offices in the new legal department. She wanted only the best for her colleagues in Legal. As I got to know Joyce over the years I understood what a great and loving friend she could be. In 2006 I needed serious heart surgery, and the day before it was scheduled I called Joyce at work. I was scared and a little emotional. That was the only time she ever became cross with me. She told me to "man-up" and face what was coming with courage and dignity, hurry up and get well, and get back to work. Of course, she was right. I think Jimmy Hynds expressed it best when he said that his aunt could give"...a kick in the ass along with a kiss on the cheek..." That's the Joyce I knew. I will miss her sweet smile, the wonderful laughter and conversations that we shared, but I will cherish those memories forever.

I STOOD BY YOUR BED
I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying, you found it hard to sleep.
I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."
I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea, you were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me.
I was with you at the shops today, your arms were getting sore. I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.
I was with you at my grave today, you tend it with such care. I want to reassure you, that I'm not lying there.
I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key. I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said "it's me."
You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there.
It's possible for me to be so near you every day.
To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."
You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew ... in the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.
The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning
and say "goodnight, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."
And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.
I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see. Be patient, live your journey out ... then come home to be with me.
