Elsa Maria Franquiz

Elsa Maria Franquiz formerly of Brighton passed away on March 8, 2024. She spent her last days surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 10, 1939 in Havana, Cuba to the late Acisclo Franquiz and Amparo Valdes.  Devoted mother of Beatriz Edmonds (Gonzalez) and her husband Nathan. The late Guillermo Gonzalez, like a mother to Sobely Katzman and eldest son Alejandro Gonzalez. Loving nana/abuelita of Andrew Webb, Ashley Edmonds, Gabriel Gonzalez, Guiomar Gonzalez and Tatiana Catalan. Great grandmother of Sophia and Ryleigh Catalan. Dear twin sister of the late William Franquiz. Sister of the late Maria de la Concepcion Garcia, Maria del Amparo Franquiz , Alberto Franquiz, Armando Franquiz, Adolfo Franquiz and Roberto Franquiz. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, including her niece and confidant Lourdes de Paz. Elsa was loved by everyone who met her, endearing them with her stories as well as her smile and infectious laugh. Family was the most important thing to her and she valued her time with them alone and in family gatherings. As a former employee of Boston College she made and maintained many friends through the years and even stayed on part-time after retiring. After fully retiring she spent 13 happy years attending Revere Adult Daycare, she loved playing bingo and other group activities.

Visiting Hours in the Lehman Reen & McNamara Funeral Home 63 Chestnut Hill Ave Brighton on Tuesday March 12th from 9:30am - 10:30am. Followed by Funeral Service at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Mt Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.
