Rita (Monahan) Cheevers

Rita (Monahan) Cheevers in Brighton formerly of Athenry, County Galway, Ireland passed away on March 13, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Michael Cheevers. 

Devoted mother of Carol Griffin and her husband Michael of Cohasset, Kevin Cheevers and his wife Marian of Scituate, Shirley Cheevers of Dartmouth, Paul Cheevers and his wife Paula of Duxbury and the late Mary Cheevers-McKenzie.  Loving grandmother of Christopher Griffin and his wife Nicole of Milton, Alyson O’Driscoll and her late husband Jonathan of Quincy, Michael Griffin and his wife Kerry of Canton, Brendan Cheevers of Hyde Park.  Great grandmother of Nolan O’Driscoll, Adeline, Evelyn and Luke Griffin. Sister of Gertie Cahalan and the late Norah, Cecilia, Eileen, James, Christopher, Michael, Jack, Edward, and Thomas. 

Funeral from the Lehman Reen & McNamara Funeral Home 63 Chestnut Hill Ave (nr Brighton Courthouse) Brighton on Thursday, March 21st at 11 am.  Followed by Funeral Mass in St Columbkille Church 321 Market Street Brighton at 12 pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment St Joseph Cemetery West Roxbury. Visiting Hours on Wednesday, March 20th from 5-8 in the funeral home. 

Rita was a longtime parishioner at Our Lady of the Presentation Church and St Columbkille Church.
