Age 95, of Brewster and formerly of Lexington, on August 18, 2018. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Robert H. Conroy and is survived by her loving daughter, Rosemary P. Conroy, of Hingham. Raised on Mission Hill in Roxbury, Kathleen was the devoted daughter of the late Patrick and Brigid (Moriarty) Kavanagh, and the devoted sister of the late Mary T. Kavanagh. Kathleen (Kay) graduated from Mission High School and Boston Business School.
She was a bookkeeper at Allied Kid in Boston and Cabot Corporation in Cambridge prior to the birth of her daughter, Rosemary. Later, Kay worked for many years at McNeil Insurance in Lexington Center. Throughout her life, Kay enjoyed both creative and athletic pursuits and was an avid reader. She was talented in sewing, milinary work, rug braiding, and baking. She was also a fine tennis player, daily walker, and golfer. Kay was a member of the Nine-Holers at The Captains Golf Course in Brewster.In retirement, Kay enjoyed traveling with her husband, Bob, and also spent winters in Naples, FL at Royal Wood.
Visitation will be at the Lehman Reen & McNamara Funeral Home, on Thursday, August 23, from 8:30-9:30 am. A 10 am Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Mission Church), 1545 Tremont Street, Mission Hill, Boston. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in West Roxbury. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
