A resident of Brighton and Osterville, passed away peacefully and comfortably on June 28, 2018. Much-loved wife of the late Leo F. Buckley for over 61 amazing and remarkable years. Daughter of the late Boston Fire Department District Chief Michael and her mother Mary Maher from County Clare, Ireland. Cherished mother of Michael and his late wife Paula of Brighton, Leo and his wife Debra of West Roxbury, and Maureen McCann and her husband Charlie of Needham. Treasured grandmother of Michael and his wife Jenna, Rachel and Leah Buckley; Leo, Ashley and Matthew Buckley; Charlie and his wife Lauren, Sean and Brian McCann.
Mildred also leaves behind many wonderful nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. Mildred’s warm and nurturing presence always put people at ease. Her caring and generous spirit was often on display within her alma mater St. Columbkille’s High School and Parish Community. Mildred also graduated from Burdett College. She had a successful career in the executive office of the Propagation of the Faith.
Mildred’s family gatherings for holidays and vacations from York Beach to Cape Cod were filled with her love, energy, and thirst for life. She also shared by example her deep and abiding faith.
Funeral from the Lehman, Reen & McNamara Funeral Home on Friday, July 6 at 10am. Followed by Funeral Mass at St. Columbkille Church 321 Market St Brighton at 11am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday, July 5 from 4pm to 8pm. Interment St Joseph Cemetery West Roxbury.
