William E. Danner

Of Allston passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 15, 2019.  He was 84.   The son of the late William and Lillian (Davis) Danner, Bill was born and raised in Dorchester.  On June 4, 1955, Bill married the love of his life, Elizabeth Carlson, and they made their home in Allston.  Bill worked at Baird & Bartlett paperboard company from 1955 until his retirement in 2000.  He also worked part-time at the Skating Club of Boston from 1956 until 2013, where among other duties he drove the Zamboni.  Like his father, Bill was handy, and especially enjoyed spending time in his basement shop on woodworking projects.  He loved his life, his family, his friends, his neighbors, the Red Sox, Frank Sinatra, and a good martini.

He was a devoted husband to his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth (Carlson), and proud father of seven children:  Ellen Fougere  and her husband Joseph of Colchester, CT; John of Port Charlotte, FL; Brian and his wife Barbara of Scituate; Paul and his wife Carol of Holliston; Nancy Chaisson of Litchfield, NH; Cathleen Stewart and her husband Craig of Waltham; and Steven  and his wife Joanne of Flagstaff, AZ.  Beloved brother of Florence Montoya of Dorchester and Frank and his wife Joan of Rochester, NH, and Robert  and his wife Carol of Wakefield.  Cherished Papa to Michael, Nina, Joseph, Jessica, Crystal, Christopher, Marianne, Robin, Matthew, Kristin, Kerry, Kimberly, Kelly, Skyler, Jay, Rachel and Eric.  Great grandfather of Flynn, Jacob, Payton, Connor, Brendan, and Mackenzie, and uncle to many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral from the Lehman Reen & McNamara Funeral Home Thursday Feb. 21st at 9 am.  Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony Church 43 Holton Street Allston at 10am.  Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.  Visiting Hours Wednesday Feb. 20th from 4-7 pm.  Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either the Regina Cleri Residence for retired priests, 60 William Cardinal O'Connell Way, Boston, MA 02114, or St. Anthony Church, 43 Holton St., Allston, MA 02134.
