Amanda Flavin

Amanda (McDonagh) Flavin of Quincy, MA and formerly of County Galway, Ireland passed away surrounded by her loving family at the age of 52 on August 7, 2023.  Amanda was the beloved wife of Christopher Flavin and devoted mother of Shane Flavin.  Amanda leaves behind her cherished siblings Margaret, Terence, Caitriona, Deborah, Donagh and David; as well as their significant others.  Amanda also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Tracey Flavin, as well as aunts, uncles, numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.  Preceding Amanda in death are her parents Padraig and Dorothy (Miller) McDonagh. 

Amanda was a loving and caring nanny for over 30 years and was truly dedicated to the families and children that she worked for.   Amanda’s passion for the outdoors was shared with those closest to her, traveling to her family getaway in Maine, kayaking on Thompson Lake and walking/hiking anytime she could.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home located at 74 Elm Street, Quincy, MA on Thursday, August 10 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm.  Immediately followed by a Prayer Service.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Brighton Hospice via 1234 Chestnut Street, Newton MA, 02464
