We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. – Rom. 8:28
Ana Cecilia Tirado Arroyo, “Cecy,” passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on September 28, 2024, in Boston, Massachusetts. Cecy dedicated her life to the service of others, both in her personal and professional life.
A graduate of the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor of Science degree, Cecy’s passion for education and helping children led her to a fulfilling career in early childhood education. She spent many years developing young minds and souls, not only as a teacher but also in her community, as a Sunday School teacher and a foster mother.
Known affectionately as “Titi Cecy” by many young people, her influence extended far beyond her immediate family. Her commitment to service was mirrored in her personal life where she was an excellent mother and a beacon of selflessness and love. Cecy's hobbies included gardening, arts and crafts, and cooking, each a testament to her creative spirit and nurturing nature.
Cecy was a member of Baptist churches in the Dominican Republic and in Puerto Rico, where she found spiritual solace and community. “All things work together for good to those who love God!” was among her favorite quoted scriptures. She lived a joyful life with much purpose and hope.
She is survived by her children, Maritza Calvo-Ciliberto, Alberto Calvo and Sandra Calvo-Rouette; sons in law Richard Ciliberto and Nelson Rouette; grandchildren Nashali, Karina, Cecilia, and Ana P. Calvo, Nelson A. and Nathan Rouette, Richard L., Robert, and Benjamin Ciliberto; great grandchildren Marcos D. and Lucca Mercado; her sisters, Maria Socorro and Ada Maria, and many nieces and nephews. Cecy was preceded in death by her siblings Roberto, Esther, and Rosa, and her parents, Antonio Tirado, and Cecilia Arroyo.
A memorial service will be held early November, in her hometown Guayama, Puerto Rico. In lieu of flowers, a contribution in Cecy’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, honoring her legacy of love, care, and compassion for humanity.
