Antonio “Tony” Brienza passed away suddenly on January 15th, 2026. Born in Tricarico, Italy, Tony’s life was defined by courage and devotion to his family.
After moving to Argentina, he met his beloved wife of 61 years, Rosaria, with whom he shared a lifetime of love. Seeking new opportunities, with two kids in tow, they emigrated to Brighton, MA, where they established their home and raised four children. A dedicated member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Local 3, Tony worked as a skilled bricklayer for most of his life, but wasn’t afraid to tackle other trades like plumbing, electrical, He was a man who took great pride in his craft, leaving a lasting mark through his hard work.
He also had a deep love for travel and adventure, embracing every opportunity to see the world with Rosaria. His journeys took him to breathtaking places such as Hawaii and Alaska, through the historic Panama Canal, and across the Caribbean, along with many other destinations. These travels brought him joy, lasting memories, and stories he loved to share, reflecting his curiosity, appreciation for life, and sense of wonder for the world beyond home.
Tony found a unique sense of freedom on his motorcycle. He loved the thrill of the open road and the wind in his face, a hobby that perfectly captured his vibrant and energetic spirit.
Above all, he was a family man. His greatest joy was spending time with his loved ones, especially during their cherished summers at Old Orchard Beach and pasta Sunday’s. He leaves behind a large, devoted family who will forever remember his strength and his love for a house full of people.
He is survived by his wife, Rosaria; his four children Horacio and Vicky Brienza of Everett, Cristina and Alex Cedrone of Dedham, Nancy and Neil Mahon of Canton, and Lisa and Marc Harr of Everett. He was a proud Nono to Barbara, Antonio, Chris, Gerado, Michelle, Nicholas, Matthew, Jacob, Andrew, Alexandra, Brian, Jason, Daniel and Adam. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members in the United States, Italy and Argentina. He was a legendary human to many and loved by all.
Funeral from the Lehman, Reen & McNamara Funeral Home, 63 Chestnut Hill Ave., Brighton on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 9:30 am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Columbkille Church, 321 Market St., Brighton at 10:30 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment following at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. Visiting Hours in the funeral home on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
