Baltasar Cabezón, 95, of Framingham, a native of Valladolid, Spain, passed away on November 6, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Maria Cabezon; a devoted father to José Cabezon, Vivian Berger, and stepson Segundo Andrew; a loving grandfather to his five grandchildren Jennifer Cabezon, Tracey Derderian, Meredith Cashman, Taylor Cashman, and Mia Berger; and a cherished great-grandfather to Skylar Erna, Kingston Ouellette, Sage Wilder, Ava Derderian, and Gavin Derderian. He came from a large, close-knit family in Spain, and was a cherished brother and beloved uncle and cousin to many.
Together with his wife Maria, Baltasar led a life of faith and service. They coordinated the Pre-Cana program for the Boston Archdiocese, and he served the Latino community at St. Columbkille Church as a Eucharistic minister and as a lector at Holy Cross Cathedral, teaching catechism, communion, and confirmation classes. Through his work with the church, he helped introduce programs such as the Passion of Jesus and the Epiphany celebration. His achievements include being awarded the Bartolomé de las Casas Prize (1970), serving as vice president of the Hispanic Lions Club, and president of the Spanish Cultural Institute of New England.
Baltasar's selfless nature and vibrant personality filled our hearts with love, joy and laughter. He will be deeply missed by the countless lives he touched. Today, we do not mourn his death but celebrate his life.
