Community and kindness, education and hard work were important to Beverly throughout her life. She helped introduce HeadStart, the Federal Surplus Food Program, and Toys for Tots to the Town of Marshfield in the mid-1960s/early 1970s. She served on the South Shore Community Action Council and remained politically active for many years. Beverly worked as Assistant Store Manager, then an accountant at Grossman's for over 20 years. While at Grossman’s, she also attended night classes and earned an Associate’s Degree in Business. Later, she was hired by Weyerhauser, a Canadian lumber company; and post-retirement, she loved working part-time at Hannaford's Bakery and Filene’s. After the loss of her beloved husband Daniel Ruprecht in March 2008, she moved to Newton, MA.
Beverly loved to host birthday and holiday events for her family, especially the annual Easter egg hunt. She inspired her family with her work ethic, creativity, and talents: baking, knitting and crocheting, sewing, vegetable gardening, and home-improvement projects. She also loved to travel with her daughters. In her later years, she enjoyed meeting many cribbage-loving friends at Scandinavian Living Center in Newton. In her time at Stone Rehabilitation, also in Newton, she was beloved by many residents for her caring heart.
