Brenda (Munsell) Flaherty of Dedham, formerly of Brighton, passed away on September 26, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, following a period of ill health. Devoted mother of Aidan Curtis Flaherty of Dedham. Adored daughter of the late Eileen (Clifford) and Curtis J. Munsell of Brighton. Beloved sister of Kerry E. Munsell of Waltham, and the late Curtis J. Munsell, Jr. of Belmont. Cherished aunt of Kelley Munsell and great aunt of Ava Svistunov, also of Belmont. Also survived by many dear cousins, other close family members and friends. A lover of music, sports and service, Brenda was a proud daughter of the Brighton community and lived life to the fullest. Every room she walked into she radiated joy, love and laughter. She was an acclaimed softball scholar athlete for Saint Columbkille’s High School, a coach for Dedham Youth Baseball and a dedicated religious education teacher at Saint Mary’s of the Assumption Parish in Dedham, MA. Brenda was proudly employed at and involved in PTC Inc. for the past several years.
Visiting hours on Tuesday, October 3rd from 4pm-8pm in the Lehman Reen & McNamara Funeral Home, 63 Chestnut Hill Ave. (near Brighton Courthouse) followed on Wednesday, October 4th by a Funeral Mass at St. Columbkille Church, 321 Market Street Brighton at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, please direct all donations to the Joslin Diabetes Center, Inc., One Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
