In Loving Memory of Brenda Goldberg Bemporad
March 11, 1939 – April 19, 2026
Brenda Goldberg Bemporad, a dedicated mother and psychologist, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, at her home in Newtonville, Massachusetts. Known for her warmth, vitality, and deep commitment to her patients, Brenda leaves behind a legacy of professional service and unwavering kindness.
Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Samuel and Rosemary “Irene” Goldberg, Brenda attended Shortridge High School before pursuing higher education at Bennington College. Her dedication to psychology led her to the City University of New York, where she obtained her Ph.D. in 1986. For many years, she maintained a private practice and was a frequent contributor to WBUR. Brenda was previously married to Jules R. Bemporad. She is survived by her cherished children, Joshua (wife Ching) Bemporad and Adam (wife Edita) Bemporad; her adoring grandson, Jules J. Bemporad; her step-grandson, Matthew Bannister; and caring sister to her brothers, Gary and John Goldberg.
