BUCKLEY, Brian David of Lowell, formerly of Brighton passed away on April 23, 2022. Beloved son of the late Joseph Kevin Buckley and Mary Martha (Cummiskey) Buckley. Dear brother of Maureen Buckley-Walsh and her late husband Robert Walsh of Mansfield, Karen Gelineau and her husband Paul of Hudson, NH, Mary Buckley of Lafayette, IN, Frances “Fran” Kolenik and her husband Mark of Reading, and the late Paul and Michael Buckley. Loving uncle of Stephen and Kristen Gelineau, Theresa and Cheyenne Buckley, Calvin, Aidan, and Maeve Kolenik, Fawn Ouellette, and Summer Thornburg. Brian is also survived by countless friends and extended family members who loved him dearly. Brian was born on December 13, 1955, in Boston and grew up in Wellesley, MA until he went into the U.S. Navy after High School. After an honorable discharge Brian attended UMASS Boston. He was a religious man who attended church services most Sundays and carried his bible with him everywhere. Brian was a voracious reader and excellent writer; he journaled most days and won a writing contest at the VA. He never complained and looked for the silver lining in any situation. Brian could find joy in a sunny day or a smile from a stranger. For the past 35 years Brian called Lowell his home. It is almost impossible to find anyone in the area that wasn’t touched by Brian’s generosity, humor, spirit, and positive attitude. He would give his last dollar to someone on the street in need and always wanted to help others. Always a kind word for his fellow man and he never judged another. A Boston sports fan, Brian loved watching the Patriots with his friend RJ and the Red Sox with his neighbor. Brian was a wonderful Uncle, Brother, and Friend – always supportive of his nieces and nephews; buying them gifts and offering words of wisdom and encouragement to all who had the pleasure and privilege of knowing him, even briefly.
