Carmela (Cardarelli) Leone, Age 93, of Brighton, died peacefully on April 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Pompeo Leone. Devoted mother of Cataldo and his wife Rosemary of Needham, daughter Paula and her husband Michael Poirier of Westwood, and daughter Rita and her husband Paul Rideout of Brighton. Dear grandmother “Nonna” of Christopher, Dante, Marisa, and Alessandria. Great grandmother of Giovani, Leone, and Santino. Loving daughter of the late Loreto and Antonietta (Antonellis) Cardarelli. Dear sister of Andreina Bartolomucci and Candida Cellucci and predeceased by sisters Peppina Roffo, Pompea Cellucci and Onelia Marini. Also survived by Gino and Patricia Leone, loving brother- and sister-in-law, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Born in San Donato, Val di Comino, Italy, Carmela immigrated to Boston with her husband in the mid-1950’s, where they worked together and had a wonderful life. Carmela and Pompeo were partners in every sense: raising a family, growing a business, and enjoying time together whether traveling, at home, or at the many functions they attended over the years. People will fondly remember how much they enjoyed singing and dancing together. Through her devotion, honesty, and no-nonsense approach to life, Carmela was a beloved role model for those who knew and loved her. She will be missed.
Visiting Hours in the Lehman Reen and McNamara Funeral Home, 63 Chestnut Hill Ave. (nr. Brighton Courthouse) BRIGHTON on Tuesday April 29th from 9-11am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Columbkille Church, 321 Market St., Brighton at 11:30 am. Interment Newton Cemetery.
