Catherine Kyriakides of Watertown (formerly of and whose heart resided in Allston and Brighton) passed away on December 25, 2024 with loved ones by her side. Loving daughter of the late Peter Kyriakides and Catherine (Matchett). Former wife of the late William Noseworthy and beloved late partner Barney Rufo. Devoted mother of Kathleen McCaig of Dedham, Annie Mazzola and her spouse Danny Mazzola of Brighton, Mary Frizzell of Wilmington, and Jennifer Maloney and her spouse John Maloney of Bellingham. Cherished sister of Ann Doucette of Walpole and predeceased by her beloved sister Mary 'Cindy' McLaughlin and brothers John, Paul, John, Peter and Ronald 'Bubsy' Kyriakides. A loving grandmother to Joseph Mazzola, Jessica Modrall, Violet Eclipse, Zachary Mazzola, Daniel Frizzell, Molly McCaig, Billy McCaig, Anthony Mazzola, Christopher Frizzell and Megan Maloney and her four great grandchildren, Jada and Boston Rathburn, Matty Sousa and Eden Modrall. Survived by her adorable cat Smudge.
The story of her life would be a best seller - encompassing all genres. It would feature her capacity to love all living things - from humans to pigeons to rats. It would include her fierce beliefs in what she believed was right and fair and her passionate and vocal fight towards both. It would delve into heartbreak and struggles, dancing and laughter, rainbows and ocean waves.
In this story her many talents would be evident. She excelled in costume design, gardening, teaching, veterinary care, culinary arts, appliance mechanics, nursing, and super cool inventions created through sheer necessity. She could, and should have written a pocket guide on one hundred ways to use a bungee cord.
The beautiful main character would be a complex and strong single parent who raised 4 daughters. She was a perfectly imperfect human who loved deeply and was loved unconditionally.
Her daughters invite you to take part in her Celebration of Life on January 4th, from 12:00 to 3:00pm at the Brighton Elks Lodge #2199 (where she was a proud member) located at 326 Washington Street in Brighton.
