Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 18, 2022. Elaine was born in Brockton and grew up in Brighton, where she met her beloved husband of 59 years, Robert H. Manley, Jr.. She was the devoted mother of Debra Manley, Robert H. Manley, III and his wife Lee, all of Brighton, the cherished Yiayia of Charlotte, Luc and Bretton Manley, and a special “Auntie” to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was also the caring sister of George Terzis and the late Clara Anastos and loving daughter of the late Alexander and Cleopatra Terzis. Elaine graduated from Brighton High School and worked at the Massachusetts State House before joining the Boston Public Schools, where she was a secretary for 35 years. She worked at Brighton High School and Garfield Elementary School, developing lifelong friendships with many of her co-workers.
Elaine enjoyed spending summer and winter vacations at Sunrise Lake, N.H. and, in later years, lived part-time in Jupiter, Fla., often surrounded by loving family and her dearest friends. She welcomed all into her home and was a second Mom and Yiayia to many of her friends’ children and grandchildren. Elaine loved life and lived it in a spirit of positivity, grace, style, humor and gratitude. She was a wonderful wife, mother, Yiayia, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend, and her memory will live on in the countless number of people whose lives she touched.
