Erasmo "Ras" Bernier

Erasmo (Ras) Bernier of Newton passed away on July 11, 2024.  He was born on November 8, 1940 to the late Erasmo and Theresa (Gutierrez) Bernier in New York City.  Beloved husband of 55 years to Carmen (Lindy) Bernier (Arroyo).  Devoted father of Jonathan David Bernier and his wife Emily of Millis and Emily Szeto of Boston.  Loving grandfather of Isabella, Maisie and Raquel.  Brother of Samuel Bernier and the late Alida Sanchez and Benjamin Bernier.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ras loved the Lord Jesus and served him beginning as a young adult until the end of his life. Ras and Lindy’s home was always open to fellow believers including the many young people whom he loved and cared for and always with his unique sense of humor. He was an Army Veteran, who worked for the social security administration after his discharge.

Visiting Hours in the Lehman Reen & McNamara Funeral Home 63 Chestnut Hill Ave. (nr Brighton Courthouse) BRIGHTON on Wednesday July 17th from 4-8pm, words of remembrance will begin at 7pm. Burial will be held on Thursday July 18th in the Massachusetts National Cemetery Connery Ave., Bourne at 2pm.  Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
