Georgia Racheotes, of Brighton, Massachusetts, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026. A proud first-generation Greek American. She was born in Boston on October 8, 1938, to the late Peter and Bessie (Konstantopoulos) Racheotes.
Georgia carried her heritage close to her heart throughout her life. Her warmth, humor, resilience, and unwavering devotion to the people she loved made her unforgettable to all who knew her.
Georgia was the devoted sister of the late Nicholas P. Racheotes and his wife Ruth, with whom she shared a lifelong bond rooted in family, tradition, and loyalty. Like her brother, she took immense pride in her Greek culture and the close-knit Brighton community that shaped her life. Family was always at the center of everything she did.
Professionally, Georgia was deeply proud of her work at Harvard Medical School, where she built lasting relationships and earned the admiration of colleagues through her dedication and kindness. To many in Brighton Center, however, she was affectionately known as the “Card Lady” at CVS a familiar, welcoming presence who could brighten someone’s day with a conversation, a smile, or helping them find just the right card for life’s important moments.
Georgia devoted many years caring for her parents with extraordinary compassion and selflessness, always placing family before herself. She was a dedicated aunt, cousin, and loyal friend to many.
She was the beloved aunt of Andrew D. and his wife Diane of Goodyear, AZ; Peter N. and his wife Robyn of Wellesley, MA; and Lexxie A. of Dennis Port. She was the loving Thea to Andrew Jr., Nicholas P., Harrison B., and Alexander J. She is also survived by many cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
She will be remembered for her sharp wit, caring nature, a love for her plants, talents as a painter and musician and deep love for her family and heritage. Whether sharing stories, celebrating holidays steeped in Greek tradition, or simply checking in on those she loved, Georgia made people feel cared for and connected.
