Geraldine "Gerry" Coleman

Geraldine “Gerry” Coleman, 59, of Boston, MA, passed away, Friday, March 10, 2023, at home.

Born in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the Geraldine (Sampson) Coleman of Brighton, MA, and the late John “Ike” J. Coleman.

Gerry had worked as a letter carrier for the Newton Center Post Office for 20 years, retiring in 2008.  She enjoyed watching classic horror movies.

Besides her mother, she is survived by two sons, James M. McDonald III of Brighton, MA, and Max A. McDonald and his wife Kristen of Dedham, MA, three brothers, John “Jacky” Coleman and his wife Ann of Watertown, MA, James Coleman and his wife Laura of Medford, MA, and Kenneth Coleman and his wife Stephanie of Brockton, MA, two sisters, Cheryl Coleman of Ashland, MA, and Christine Lawlor and her husband Patrick of Brighton, MA, one granddaughter, Makenna McDonald and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023, from 6-8PM in the Lehman, Reen & McNamara Funeral Home, 63 Chestnut Hill Ave., Brighton.

A memorial service will follow at 8PM on Friday evening in the funeral home.

Burial will be private.
