James E. Banks, Jr was born to the parents of Mr. James E. Banks, Sr. and Ms. Douglas Lee Banks (both deceased) of Barnesville, GA. He was the oldest of four children. He was educated in the Lamar County School System and moved to Boston at an early age in 1945. He became employed at U.S. SLIDE ZIPPER CO. as a driver for 25 years. He eventually met and married Ms. Mary (Edwards) Banks in 1961 and together conceived the youngest son.
BANKS was very passionate about returning to GA to visit relatives. He was also fond of baseball and the Boston Red Sox was his favorite team. He enjoyed staying current on local and national news. He had conversation for everyone he encountered. He loved coffee and was quite reputable of his attire.  He certainly was a Man of Character.
James E. BANKS, Jr. was preceded in death by his brothers; Jim Henry Banks (Jesse Banks), Charlie Banks (Elizabeth Banks) and sister Betty Ann Banks, all of Barnesville, GA.
Those he left behind are his two sons; James E. Banks, III (Linda Banks) of Barnesville, GA  and Desmond L.  Banks of Boston, MA. Three grandchildren Semaj Banks of GA, Khaliah Williams of NC, and Darryl Elliot of Boston, and great grandson Daniel, NC. In addition to a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visiting Hours in the Lehman, Reen, & McNamara Funeral Home, 63 Chestnut Hill Ave., Brighton on Saturday, April 30th from 11:00am to 12:30pm.  Followed by a Funeral Service at 12:30pm.  Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Private.
