James Linehan Jr. Obituary

James (Jim) Linehan Jr. a long-time resident of Natick, formerly of Brighton, passed away in the comfort of his home on July 13, 2026. He was the beloved and devoted husband of the late Maureen E. (Fitzpatrick), who passed away on April 4, 2020, at the beginning of Covid. Jim and Maureen were married on July 15, 1956, in St Columbkille’s Church prior to Jim’s being drafted into the Army. Jim was a railroad retiree, after many years of service. Some of Jim’s favorite things were to dance with Maureen around their home and he was only too happy to teach anyone how to dance. Jim loved watching movies both old and new and he was an avid Patriots fan who loved cheering them on for as long as he could remember, making Patriot game days his favorite day of the week. Jim was the brother of the late Richard Linehan and his wife Beatrice. He was the brother- In-law of Barbara Fitzpatrick and Richard Berrio of Brighton, and Shirley Fitzpatrick of Rochester NH, and the brother-in-law of the late Evelyn and Stanley Koschen, Jackie, Walter, Richard, Laurence, and Raymond Fitzpatrick, Robert and Corrine Fitzpatrick, Jane Kiley, and Kathleen Berrio. Jim is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

A combined funeral mass for Jim and a memorial mass for Maureen will be held on Wednesday, July 22nd, at 10:30 am, at St. Columbkille’s Church, 321 Market Street, Brighton, with visitation before mass at 9:00 am to 10:00 am, in the Lehman Reen McNamara Funeral Home 63 Chestnut Hill Avenue, Brighton.
