Longtime resident of Brighton, MA. Passed away on January 31, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Mary C. (Danehy) McKay, devoted father of James and his wife Victoria of Marshfield, Brian and his wife Tracy of Needham, Mark and his wife Barbara of Hingham and the late David McKay. Brother of Margie Silva, the late Dorothy Backus and the late Barbara Sampson. Also survived by eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Jim grew up in Dorchester, served in the Marines Corps, graduated from Boston State College and was a longtime employee of Western Electric in Watertown. He coached in the Brighton Little League for over a decade. He was an avid fan of Boston sports and he enjoyed spending time in Harwich and golfing with friends. Jim’s commitment to his family and selfless acts were characteristic of his compassion and heart. His kindness, grace and strength of spirit will be greatly missed.
Private services will be held at a later date.
