Joan "Joann" Daly

Daly, Joan “Joann” of Waban.

Joan, the last of the eight “Daly Girls”, passed away on September 14, 2018. Joan was born in Brookline and spent most of her life in Newton on Lake Avenue and later in Waban, and much of her early years in Hull each summer. The Daly girls were known for their closeness and companionship. Joan and her late sister Patsy were long-time season ticket holders for the Red Sox and members of the BoSox club.

Joan spent her professional life at Boston City Hospital and spent many years post-retirement teaching seminars on communicable diseases for countless medical students.

Joan always wanted the latest updates about her nieces and nephews and their children. She was predeceased in January 2018 by her sister Patricia Daly and previously by her brother Francis and sisters Louise Daly, M. Geraldine Gallivan, Lucille Long, Elizabeth Schaller, Eileen Brennan and Rosalie Daly.  She is survived by many nieces, nephews and their children. 

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church 1317 Centre St Newton on Thursday, September 20th at 12 o’clock noon. Visiting hour starting in the church at 11 am. Interment Holyhood Cemetery Brookline. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to the Jimmy Fund PO Box 849168 Boston, MA 02284.
