John Barrett Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of John J. Barrett announces his passing on October 29th, 2020, at the age of 78 years. John spent the last year of his life residing at Presentation Rehab and Skilled Care in Brighton, MA. John will be remembered by his sister Mary Barrett, and stepchildren, Torylee, Ross and Joseph Cigna and their spouses.  “Pops” will also be fondly remembered by his 6 grandchildren, Kodia, Alessandra, Andrew, Isabella, Jaden and Olivia.  He was predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy, his parents Mary Geary and John Barrett as well as his sister, Catherine.

John was a lifelong Brighton resident and Navy Veteran who served in the Vietnam War on the USS Washburn. He was a people person and great conversationalist. He was a remarkable storyteller and a history buff. John was also an avid sports fan, passionate about his beloved Boston teams.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Columbkille, Brighton, on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 10:30 am.
