John “Jack” Leo Reynolds, 66, of Brighton, passed away peacefully at home on September 6, 2021. Jack was born on February 9, 1955, in Pittsfield to the late Francis and Winifred (McLaughlin) Reynolds.
He attended St. Charles School and Church where he was an altar server, and St. Joseph’s High School where he excelled as an all-star athlete. In 1973 he graduated from Red Hook High School in New York. Jack was a huge sports fan, loved baseball, particularly his New York Yankees. He was also a proficient billiards player.
Jack struggled with addiction and mental health issues for a long time, but with inner courage and strength, he was able to live a clean and sober life for more than 20 years. He was then able to return these blessings and provide support to others who had similar afflictions.
In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his loving sisters, Ann Furey and Ellen Marie Ruberto.
Jack is survived by his brother Francis and sister-in-law Joyce Reynolds of Chatham, his daughter Jackie Reynolds of Framingham, two grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
Jacks’ family would like to express gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and support staff of the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program and Caring Hearts Homecare.
A Mass honoring Jack will be held on Saturday, September 25 at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Roman Catholic Church, 89 Briggs Ave., Pittsfield, Mass. Family and friends are all welcome to attend.
In Jack’s memory, you are asked to provide prayers and offer good deeds to those who are still sick and suffering within your own community.
