Kevin spent his early years in Moon Township, outside of Pittsburgh PA. The family then relocated to Milwaukee, WI for his high school years. In his early twenties, Kevin moved to Boston and worked as a bike messenger for many years with NSS courier company, participating in legendary alley races that officially never happened. He then transitioned to a storied twenty-five year career in the computer IT field as a desktop engineer for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care.
Kevin grew up a Pittsburgh Pirates fan and kept a framed photo of Roberto Clemente in his office. His son is named after the beloved catcher Manny Sanguillen, a cornerstone player for the great Pirate teams of his youth. Kevin transferred his love of baseball to others as a longtime coach of the Yankees in the South End Little League. He was also a player, known for his solid defense as a catcher. For twenty years he played in various leagues and as a Met in the Cambridge Men’s Fastpitch Softball league.
Foremost he was a MAKER, a fixer, a gamesman, from horseshoes to frisbee golf, a student of pirate history, an adventurer, a woodsman, a restorer, a builder, a treasure hunter, a creative workaround wizard.
