Lily M. (Rosenbauer) Lyons

Lily M. Lyons, 87, of Newton, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, July 3, 2025.

Lily is predeceased by her parents, Oscar and Mary (Connelly) Rosenbauer, and her siblings, Kathleen, Donna, Mary, Mark (all Rosenbauer), and Gina Waters.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Michael J. Lyons of Newton. She was the loving mother of Mary “Mimi” Lyons-Hunter, of Newton, Michael Lyons and wife Heather, of Newton, Tina Cerrito and husband Chris, of Westport, CT, Jennifer Foundas and husband John, of Natick, and Pete Lyons and wife Ann, of Needham. Lily was the proud and cherished grandmother of 12 grandchildren, Alixandra (Hunter), Michael and Leah (Lyons), Matthew, Nicole, and Andrew (Cerrito), William, Amelia, and Patrick (Foundas), Caroline, Hannah, and Sarah (Lyons). She was the beloved sister of Rita Hauser, of San Diego, CA and she was the beloved sister-in-law to Catherine Reardon and Alice Lyons. She was also survived by her “Sisters of her Heart”, Marcia Sullivan, Judy Higgins, and Ellen Parker.

Funeral from the Lehman, Reen & McNamara Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 10:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Columbkille Church, 321 Market St., Brighton at 11:00 am. Interment will be private. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting Hours at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lily’s memory to the Pan Mass Challenge, Boston Children’s Hospital, or Good Shepherd Hospice.
