Louis (“Pudgy”) Wesley Carcerano of Brighton passed away peacefully at home on April 13, 2026, surrounded by his family, after a two-year battle with lung cancer.
Born on October 14, 1945, to the late Louis Carcerano and Pamay ( Fortucci) Carcerano. Beloved brother of Lorraine Mazzola, Joseph Carcerano and Ina Barba. He leaves behind his daughters, Victoria Bozyczko and her husband Joseph of Holliston; Lisa Franchitto of Whitman; and Gina Adamson and her husband Jason of Holliston. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Lou discovered his passion for woodworking early in life, turning a natural talent for building into a lifelong career as a master carpenter. Sharing his love for the craft, he became an educator at Waltham Vocational High School. He was not only a dedicated carpentry instructor, but also a mentor who taught the value of patience and pride in one’s work. Pudge’s craftsmanship shone through when he designed and built his family home in Sherborn, Massachusetts, where he raised his children. Still in the family, it remains a cherished, sprawling property that his grandchildren can call home.
In his later years, he became an avid hobbyist, mastering the art of woodcarving and whittling, and leaving behind a legacy of handmade, heartfelt creations. Another of his passions was antiquing—you could often find him in Brimfield searching for hidden treasures. He was an avid collector of antique and vintage toy guns, a pursuit that brought him great enjoyment throughout his life.
