Mariaelena Ricker

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother Marialena Ricker on June 18, 2023.  Her departure has left an indescribable void in our lives, but her memory will forever remain etched in our hearts.

Mariaelena was a beacon of love, strength, and grace. She touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love knew no bounds.  Her genuine kindness and unwavering devotion to her family and friends were the cornerstones of her remarkable character.

Born November 21, 1956 to her late parents Horace & Catherine (Cunningham) Ricker. She was the sister of the late Elizabeth (Betty Ann) Ricker.  Known to many as Maria, she was dedicated and determined.  She led with compassion and was the backbone of her family. Mariaelena was a Dean’s List graduate of Aquinas College and enjoyed higher learning. She carried this love and compassion when treating her patients at Saint John of God Hospital in Brighton, South Shore Hospital in Weymouth and Signature Hospital of Brockton. Ever the hard worker, Maria always persevered through times while providing a caring and nurturing touch to those in need.

As the matriarch of her family, she devoted her life to her children as they were her everything.  Mariaelena is predeceased by her parents Horace & Catherine (Cunningham) Ricker, her sister Elizabeth (Betty Ann) Ricker and son Lamont (Scott) Ricker. Mariaelena is survived by her daughter Reneeleona Dozier-Holland and her husband Jovan Holland and

7 Grandchildren: Dashari, Dajia, Arianna, Ava, Seliyah, Jovan and Amiyah Catherine.  Maria will be sorely missed by loved ones, extended family, along with her brothers and sisters in Christ.

Marias legacy is that family must stay together despite differences and we all are a work in progress. Maria embodied grace and patience. This legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of every person she touched.  Though we grieve her loss deeply, we find solace in knowing that she has found eternal peace. We honor her memory by carrying forward the lessons she imparted upon us, by living our lives with compassion, empathy, and unconditional love.
