Marjorie Lenora Young Basu passed away on November 27, 2021 at her home in Brighton. She was born in Los Angeles, California on 19th Aug, 1932. Studied at Political Science at Berkeley University, California. Worked in the State Department, Washington DC and later at Banker & Tradesman Real Estate Advertising in Boston. Married John Basu, whom she met while doing Bible Study notes at Brigham’s Restaurant opposite our church in 1983-a marriage of mutually love & enduring happiness and they travelled widely to Europe, Switzerland, Netherlands, England, Bahamas, Bermuda and three 6-month visits to India where she met Mother Theresa twice. Played Special Music at All Saints, Advent & Easter at Brighton Allston Congregational Church for a number of years and sang soprano in the choir under the tutelage of Fernando Michelin. She had great love for music (where she was tutored by Janusz Kowalski), attended Symphony Hall regularly and was fervent in her faith and steady in her church attendance (50 out of 52 Sundays per year) She is survived by her three daughters Suzanne, Sarah and Mary and nine grandchildren. Left behind her husband with a broken heart!
