Michael Gismondi Obituary
Of Hopedale MA, passed away on October 28, 2018. Beloved son of the late Grazia (Giorgio) and Tomasso Gismondi, immigrants from Apulia, Italy, Mike was born in Elmhurst, NY on February 6, 1928, the second of four children. He was honorably discharged from the US Navy in 1948 where he served as an aircraft mechanic, and worked the majority of his career as an auto mechanic at Firestone until his retirement in 1990.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Anne (Trupia) Gismondi, who he was happily married to for 63 years, their five children and their spouses, Thomas & Louise Gismondi of Selden, NY, Michael & Kathy Gismondi of Centereach, NY, John & Liz Gismondi of Standish, ME, Grace & Bob Pool of Hopedale, MA, and Diana & Dave Stevens of Windham, ME and 13 grandchildren. Mike is also survived by his brother and sister in law, Steve and Millie Gismondi of East Meadow, NY, along with numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Gismondi may be made to the charity of your choice. Services and Interment will be private.
