Miguel Archangel Garcia, a life-long resident of Allston, Massachusetts passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on July 2, 2021. He died at the age of 94.
Miguel is survived by his wife, Daria Garcia; his children, Mirna, Rodolfo, and Julian Garcia; his siblings, Isabelle, Maria, Otilia, and Fidencio Garcia; his grandchildren, Luis, Mirza, Dary, Keyly, Hedras, Stephanie, David, and Maria Garcia. He is also survived by many more family members.
He was born in Santa Rosa, Nueva Santa Rosa, Guatemala on September 29, 1926 to Julian Garcia Quevedo and Candelaria Herrarte. He joined the Guatemalan military at the age of 18, participating in many campaigns throughout the Guatemalan Civil War. After retiring from the military, he joined the police force moving up the ranks until becoming the director of INTERPOL in Guatemala City. Miguel Archangel Garcia was an accomplished man who was righteous and just.
Miguel was a caring husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather. He dedicated his life to his family. He provided shelter, food, and water to those who couldn’t afford said necessities. He always gave aid to those in needs even when he himself was going through trying times. He was the patriarch of the Garcia family. He will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who know him.
