Priscilla (Carll) Carpenter, age 87, of Framingham, Massachusetts, formerly of Allston, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026. Beloved mother of John Carll Carpenter of Boston and Jennifer Anne Glazier and her husband Tony Glazier of Framingham. Devoted Nana to her cherished grandsons, Ryan and Eric Glazier. Daughter of the late Stanley W Carll and Anna (Craffey) Carll. Sister of Sandra Ryan and her husband Bill of Westwood. Predeceased by her sisters Mary Jane Long, Nancy Kelliher and Marjorie Carll, as well as her brothers Donald, Robert and Peter Carll. And treasured Auntie “Cilly” to many nieces and nephews, and their children. Born in Boston on August 3, 1938, Priscilla was soon whisked “down” to Stanley Hill Road, China, Maine; the only Carll kid to bear witness to the full 10 year “experiment” of farming life, such as it was. They remain some of her funniest stories of all. Just a little kid, indeed very little, she attended class at a two-room schoolhouse by China Lake. But only when it wasn’t too cold outside, as her mother seldom sent her on a “frosty” day. Said she was “just too little” to go to school in such weather. Upon the families return to Boston (in the back of the pickup truck), Priscilla was enrolled in Saint Anthony’s 4th grade class and was quickly adopted by lifelong friend Beverly and “crew.” Come high school she was off to Saint Columbkille School in Brighton, while also proudly serving on the Saint Anthony’s Blue Diamonds Drill Team. All of which proved to be some of her best times of her youth. Following graduation in 1957, Priscilla began work as a bookkeeper. And a damned fine one too (as she’d tell you so herself!). Her first position was with American Underwriters, followed by The Newton Times, with many other jobs and clients thereafter. She so enjoyed her work, that she continued it well into her 70’s. And woe be the penny that strayed, as many a tear was shed as she locked away the credit card for safe keeping. Beyond work, Priscilla loved spending time with her children, grandsons and large extended family. For many years her former home on Newtonville Ave was the social hub for many informal gatherings. The endless memories and photos speak to all the happy celebrations her vast clan shared in that big old fabulous house. And it turns out that Auntie Cilly was also an amazing and incredibly funny storyteller who relished retelling the old favorites whenever asked. Which was all the time! They were her greatest gift to us all. And now her lasting legacy. Priscilla was very generous and donated to many charities. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Priscilla may be made to the Home for Little Wanderers, 271 Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02115 or to a charity of your choice.
