Raymond M. Arthur of Brighton formerly of Cambridge passed away on January 10, 2025. Beloved husband of Kathleen “Kay” (Ryan) Arthur. Devoted father of Sean Arthur, Patrick Arthur and his wife Cailin. Loving grandfather of Raymond, Ryan, Seamus and Connor. Brother of Patrick Arthur, Michael Arthur and his wife Elaine and the late Virginia Kuster, Patricia Noel, Barbara Cheney, James Arthur and Kathy DiCarlo. Son of the late Edward and Pearl (Dean) Arthur. Also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral from the Lehman Reen & McNamara Funeral Home 63 Chestnut Hill Ave (nr Brighton Courthouse) on Friday January 17th at 10:30am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Help of Christians Church Washington Street Newton at 12pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Mt Benedict Cemetery West Roxbury. Visiting Hours on Thursday January 16th from 4-8pm in the funeral home. Ray was a member of the Army National Guard and longtime USPS letter carrier in Cambridge. Ray was a lifelong sports enthusiast, always cheering for the Boston teams, coaching Brighton little league and closely following his four grandson’s athletic endeavors. Ray enjoyed competitive games of horseshoes on the beaches of Cape Cod each summer with his boys. He was an avid cribbage player and active member of Somerville Cribbage Club.
