Richard “Dick” Hartman of Allston passed away on June 8, 2022, after a 3-year battle with Leukemia (AML). Beloved husband of Rita (Gaynor) Hartman. Devoted father of Rich Hartman and his wife Nicole Gilbert of Hopkinton. Loving grandfather of Maxwell and Nolan Hartman. Brother of Bob Hartman and his wife Heidi of AZ and the late Jack Hartman. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Lehman Reen & McNamara Funeral Home 63 Chestnut Hill Ave Brighton on Thursday June 16th at 8:30 am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony Church 43 Holton Street Allston at 9:30 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Brighton. Visiting Hours on Wednesday June 15th from 4-8 pm in the funeral home. Family suggests wearing masks.
Dick was an International Footwear Executive and held many top sales positions over his 55-year career. He came to Boston in 1963 from Burlington, VT and started working on South Street in the Leather District. Dick went on to work at companies such as Famolare, Eastland, Dexter, Shanghai Richina Leather, and most recently at Camtrade. He very much enjoyed his time on the island of Martha’s Vineyard where he often went to the beach, played golf, and most of all, spending time with his family, grandchildren, and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Richard ‘Dick’ Hartman to the Massachusetts General Hospital for the benefit of the Stem Cell Transplant Discovery Fund.
