Robert Peter (Bob) Ellard, 73, of Hanover, passed away suddenly Friday, October 10, 2025. Bob was born in Boston on February 12, 1952. He was the beloved youngest son of Nicholas Francis and Jane (McHugh) Ellard. He was born in Boston and raised in Brighton MA. He was a graduate of St Columbkille’s High School and Bentley University.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, sisters Mary, Marguerite, Patricia, Barbara, Elizabeth, and brother Kevin. Bob was the devoted loving father to Nicholas Ellard of Hanover, and Joseph Ellard of Salem. He leaves his beloved friend Loraine Haverty-Sullivan. He was the beloved brother of Patrick Ellard and his wife Mary, of Dedham, MA, John Ellard and his partner Mary Barry, of Holbrook, MA, Francis Ellard, of the Villages, FL, and brother-in-law Michael Turner of Coronado, CA. Bob was also a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Bob cherished his time with son Nick going out to eat, playing mini golf and watching TV together. Bob enjoyed 60’s music, his favorite song was “Summer Wind” by Frank Sinatra. He enjoyed reuniting with his lifelong friends at least once a year on Cape Cod. Bob enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Bruins, Patriot and Celtics (most of the time). Bob was a longtime employee of the Mass State Lottery. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s association or a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral from the Lehman, Reen & McNamara Funeral Home, 63 Chestnut Hill Ave., Brighton MA. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 9:30 am. This will be followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Columbkille Church, 321 Market St., Brighton at 10:30 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will be private. Visiting Hours on Friday October 24th from 3-7pm in the funeral home.
