Robert "Sean" O'Brien

Robert “Sean” O’Brien age 60 of Dedham MA formerly of Brighton MA passed away on September 15th 2023 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous 6 month battle with Leukemia.  In his words ”Doc I’m here to fight the good fight!”  Which he did! He was such a Loving Husband to his high school sweetheart Diane Baggs O’Brien of Dedham. They were married for 33 years (together for 43). Sean adored her immensely. One of his last words to her were “Thank you for Loving me so much and taking care of me”. He was the loving Dad to his two beautiful daughters Emily O’Brien and Sarah O’Brien both of Dedham whom  he loved so much and could not have been more proud of!  Devoted son of Barbara (Wilhoite) Martin of Fort Myers, FL, and the late Robert O’Brien and Stepson to Jack Martin of Fort Myers, FL. Dear brother of the late Michael O’Brien and his life partner Cheryl Coleman of Ashland, Teresa Gorman and her husband Peter of Sturbridge, Kerry O’Brien and his wife Nicole of East Boston and Linda Worcester of Warham ( sister in-law ) who he loved as much as his own sister. Also survived by many nieces and nephews that he loved so dearly.

Sean worked for the Boston Globe For 33 years where he leaves behind so many friends!  Sean loved to garden, sharing his crops with his coworkers, family friends and neighbors. Each fall he would take hours climbing his pear tree to donate multiple boxes of pears to the Franklin Park Zoo. He was a Mr. fix it whether it be family friends or anyone who was in need he was the guy you could count on!!  He was an amazing father, husband, godfather, brother, uncle, cousin, colleague, and friend. He touched the lives of so many people. He will truly and forever be missed and will never, ever be forgotten. 

Funeral from the Lehman Reen & McNamara Funeral Home 63 Chestnut Hill Ave (nr Brighton Courthouse) BRIGHTON on Thursday September 21st at 9:30am.  Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Columbkille Church 321 Market Street Brighton at 10:30am.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend.  Interment St Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.  Visiting Hours on Wednesday September 20th from 4-8pm in the funeral home.
