Robertha Pinkney-Pizzaro died peacefully surrounded by family on November 18, 2023.
Born in Vicksburg, Mississippi on January 31, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Sylvia Pinkney, and was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
She grew up in Mississippi and attended Ken Karyl School before relocating to Boston, where she had been a resident of Brighton for over 40 years.
Robertha was a cook for the Fidelis Way Daycare Center for 20 years. She loved to cook on her own time for anyone who needed a home cooked meal. She was well known for her cooking and helping everyone around her. Her favorite past time was going to the casino. She loved traveling to the casino and enjoyed her slot machines. Robertha was always on the go from shopping trips to enjoying her family. She lived for her family, the Rock by far.
Robertha leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 45 years, Pascual Pizzaro, her children, Diane Pinkney of Allston, MA, Jock Pinkney of Hyde Park, MA, Raymond Pinkney and his wife Natasha of Brighton, MA, her grandchildren, Andre, Jaquan, Diamond, Ethan, and Malik, as well as six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and extended family members. She was also the mother of the late Otis Thomas and Tracey Pinkney and grandmother of the late Desmond.
Robertha will be missed by everyone who was Blessed to know this loving and caring woman.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 10AM-12PM in the Lehman, Reen, McNamara Funeral Home, 63 Chestnut Hill Ave., Brighton. Funeral services will follow at 12 Noon in the funeral home. Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery.
