Ruth Fitzpatrick of Dedham, formerly of Brighton and Jamaica Plain, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2023 at age 90. Ruth was born to Charles and Edith Wheeler on their farm in North Reading. She was predeceased by her dear siblings Helen Porter, Alice Milbury and Edward Wheeler. Beloved wife of the late Cornelius Fitzpatrick, they raised their six children in Brighton: Susan DeBacker (Matthew) of Athens, Georgia, Pamela Fadden (Robert) of Dedham, Michael Fitzpatrick (Susan) of Windsor, California, Charles Fitzpatrick of Jamaica Plain, Betsy Fitzpatrick (Harry Grill) of Brookline, and Kate Fitzpatrick (Itzhak Perry) of Cambridge. Cornelius passed away in 1972. Ruth took great pride in her 20-year teaching career, many of those years spent at the Rogers Middle School in Hyde Park. In 1991, she married Anthony Macolini and they enjoyed many happy years together until his passing in 2004. Ruth’s love for her family was boundless. In addition to her children, she leaves 11 adoring grandchildren Jason, Bartholomew, Gregory, Todd, Chris, Emily, Nick, Evan, Lauren, Avery and Corey, and 13 great grandchildren all of whom will forever treasure tender and loving memories of Mom, Grandma, and GG.
Visitation from 9:00 to 10:00am on Monday, September 18 at the Lehman Reen McNamara Funeral Home, 63 Chestnut Hill Avenue, Brighton, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30am at St. Columbkille Church, 321 Market Street, Brighton. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Brighton.
