Scott Schroeder of Andover, MA passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 17, 2026 at the age of 56.
Scott grew up in Feeding Hills, MA and created countless cherished memories in York Beach, ME and on Mascoma Lake in NH. He attended Agawam High School and Springfield Technical Community College. After graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering, he went to work for Sarnafil Roofing as a Technical Service Rep for ten years. When Scott was offered the National Technical Manager position in Toronto, he jumped at the chance for a new experience and worked for the company’s Canadian branch for seven additional years. After returning to Massachusetts to be closer to family, Scott decided to start his own company, SDS Roof Consulting, where he was able to share his technical expertise as a roof inspector on commercial buildings in New York and New England.
Everyone who had the pleasure of befriending Scott knew that he loved nothing more than conversing and socializing, whether it was with a long time friend or a stranger he played pool with in a local pub. He was his most vibrant self when challenging those he loved in animated, friendly debates. Scott had a deep love for music, and his most treasured nights consisted of being with family and sharing his favorite and most obscure music with a glass of cabernet in his hand. Scott was also extremely curious and had a desire to learn – nobody was better at researching any and every topic ranging from how to properly sous vide a steak to which watch bands would last the longest. Scott loved any sort of game that would keep his mind stimulated. He started each day playing his daily Wordle and sending it to his sisters, hoping to beat them in a friendly competition. He also loved to play Chess, and it didn’t matter if it was online with someone from England or if it was just teaching his nephews the best opening strategies. Scott was a foodie, and his favorite pastime was serving as sous chef to his brother-in-law, Mike. Over the years, this dynamic duo perfected restaurant quality recipes enjoyed by many. Scott’s family and friends will forever miss his humor and infectious laugh.
Scott is survived by his two sisters, Amy Mulrenan of Winchester, MA, and Beth Schroeder of Feeding Hills, MA, as well as his six nephews and nieces: Jake, Rhein, Shaye, Cole, Bree, and Lake. Scott is predeceased by his father, John "Jack" Schroeder, his mother, Karen Schroeder, and his brother-in-law, Michael Mulrenan.
A private memorial service will be held to honor Scott’s legacy. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Scott's memory to the Michael J. Mulrenan Scholarship at the Woburn-Stoneham Elks, 295 Washington Street, Woburn, MA 01801.
