Stephen M. Dorsey Age 86 of Brighton died peacefully on May 14, 2021. Born in Newton on January 16, 1935 to Andrew and Mary (McEvilly) Dorsey. Stephen was the last survivor of the ten Dorsey children.
Stephen grew up in Brighton and graduated from St. Columbkille’s High School in 1953. Stephen served in the US Army 69th Infantry Division from 1954 to 1956 during the Cold War in Germany. Stephen was a U.S.P.S letter carrier in Newton Centre for over 36 years retiring in 1992. Stephen was an active trustee for the Glencoe Park East Condominium Association. Most importantly, Stephen was a caring and steady influence to many family members and friends over his life.
Stephen last resided at the Chestnut Park at Cleveland Circle Assisted Living Facility. Stephen was predeceased by his brothers Andrew, Ed, James, Paul, John, Richard and Arthur Dorsey and sisters Elizabeth (Dorsey) Fadden and Janet M. Dorsey. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and a cousin Alice Shea.
Visiting in the Lehman Reen McNamara Funeral Home on Thursday May 20th from 9-10am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Columbkille Church 321 Market St Brighton at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Brighton.
