Steven “Steve” Thompson passed away Tuesday May 25, 2021 after battling pancreatic cancer for almost three years at the age of 69. Steve was born November 16, 1951 in Waltham to Ernest and Florence (Toombs) Thompson. He resided in Framingham for the past 21 years with his beloved wife Cheryl (Pratt) Thompson.

Steve grew up in Waltham. As a member of Teamsters Local Union No. 25, he worked as a truck driver for many companies throughout the years and retired from Aggregate Industries. A range officer at the Maynard Rod & Gun Club and a member of the “S.O.D.” motorcycle club, he enjoyed many benefit rides and parties. You could always find him riding his 1946 Ford pickup truck and 1974 Ford Thunderbird, attending many car shows with his big brother Bill. Steve enjoyed spending time with his “babe” Cheryl, his brothers, sisters, and many friends. A true life of the party, Steve was always cracking jokes, and enjoying an iced cold Miller High Life.

Steve is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 37 years, Cheryl. He also leaves behind his sisters Beverly Peirce, Gail Landino and husband Dick, Sherry Raboin and husband Joe all of Billerica, Jackie Izzi and husband Eddie of Vermont, and brother Bill Thompson and wife Cathy of Sudbury, brother in law Ed Lavelle of Westford, and sister in law Kathy Thompson of Townsend. He is beloved by many nieces, nephews, and two cats Lippy & Lippy. He is predeceased by his brother Butchie Thompson, sister Patty Lavelle, and brother Frank Thompson.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at a later date.

Our connection with Steve goes way back to when we were both in 6th grade!  He was always one of the most special people we have ever known.  He was actually my first "boyfriend " back then and that evolved into a long friendship.  When one was around Steve there was never a dull moment and there was always a lot of laughter!  But my family knew a softer side of him. He was one of my brother Jay's best friends and one of his pall bearers along with 5 other special guys when he was killed in a motorcycle accident many years ago at the young age of 16.. Those guys met us at my Moms on Christmas Eve. for a few years. after Jay's death and it really helped us to cope with our loss.  Steve grieved deeply and continued to visit my Mom on his own for many additional Christmas Eves after Jay's death. Those visits said everything about his character and kindness and we all loved him for that. Really, what young guy does that?? Those six guys were very kind and special to us but Steve always stood out because he kept up those visits for years even after the other guys moved on...We are happy to see that he has had a good life full of family and friends and laughs and that he enjoyed a wonderful marriage with Cheryl for all of these years.  even though we lost touch, he is someone we will always be grateful to and will live on in our hearts. He was truly one of a kind.  Our prayers and deepest sympathy go out to the Thompson Family and the love of his life, Cheryl.
