Mr. Thomas Michael Shippie, age 67, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021, at his home in Naples, FL, where he resided for the past five years.
Tom was born in Brighton, MA. He was the fourth of five sons of the late John William Shippie and Mary Agnes (Ryan) Shippie. Thomas had some physical issues but was a hard worker. Right out of school he became a deli worker for First National Stores. He then assembled braille typewriters for The Perkins Institute for the Blind in Watertown. He retired early with continuing health problems.
Thomas was a long-standing member of The Ancient Order of Hibernians in Watertown, MA, a member of the Newton Elks Lodge in Newton, MA., and most recently, The Moose Lodge of Naples, FL. Thomas had many friends and always greeted people with a smile.
He loved visiting Florida to attend Boston College/Red Sox exhibition games over the years. His move to Naples was a dream come true. He always said that when he woke up each morning in Florida, he felt like he had died and gone to Heaven.
In addition to Tom’s parents, he was predeceased by his brothers James, Mark, and Stephen. Left to carry on his memory is his brother John (Jay) of Boston.
