On Friday September 3, 2021 Vincent Blair Galiano Jr, loving father to his three children and Papa to his four grandchildren, passed away at age 75.
Vinny was born 10/21/1945 in Boston, MA to Vincent, Sr. and Katherine Galiano. He received his College education, and Masters+ at Boston University in Science and education becoming a Biology and Chemistry Teacher at Weymouth High school in MA, where he enriched the lives of so many over 30+ years. After, retiring from the high school he knew he was not done in education and became a contractor with AAA drivers’ education, also in Weymouth MA for several years. Once his kids finally convinced him to retire, Vinny spent his retirement years living in NH.
Vinny always had a passion for learning and sharing what he knew with others. He loved spending time with his family playing games, listening to music, watching sports, classic or scary movies, or wouldn’t miss the occasional Harry Potter marathon, and enjoyed having a nice night fire under the stars. Vinny enjoyed reading a good book (the thicker, the better). He was at home on the ocean, and he cherished his time with his four grandkids and his great grand pug Rylo that stood guard by his chair. Vinny was known for his kindness, always ready to lend a hand, his compassionate spirit will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Vin was the last of his kind, a true Italian and a Southie Irish guy, he just never had the accent. He was predeceased by his father Vincent Sr, mother Kay, sister Jean, brother-in-law John, and former wife Sandra. He is survived by his children Merrissa her partner Michael, Nicholas his wife Kate, Ashleigh and her partner Brad. His granddaughters Alexzandria, Kaleigh, Sophie and grandson Chase. Also, by several cousins, nieces, nephews, his God children, and many friends. The world changed the day he passed and there is a hole in it without Vinny’s smile, laugh and his “Darling” comments, that are forever cherished by us all.
A funeral service mass will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 11 am at St. Peters’ Parish in Plymouth, MA. Flowers may be sent to the church at 86 Court St Plymouth, MA 02360 or Donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
