Wing Yee Chan

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Wing Yee Chan, who passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on May 7, 2025.

Born in Toisan, China, Wing Yee was the eldest of three siblings. After completing her high school education, she moved to Hong Kong, where she met her husband, Shui Sang Chan, and raised their three children. 

While Wing Yee was known for her beauty, grace, and impeccable style, she was also an incredibly hard worker, full of determination to create a better life for herself and her family. In Hong Kong, she established her own garment export business—a testament to her entrepreneurial spirit. Upon immigrating to the United States, she worked tirelessly as a garment factory worker and waitress, eventually owning and operating her own restaurant. She remained active and independent into retirement, finding community and connection at the Cambridge Elderly Center. 

Faith became a source of comfort and strength for Wing Yee later in life. With her younger son James’s guidance, she was baptized and became a Christian in June 2020. According to Jesus, those who follow him will receive the salvation of eternal life. James often prayed that their family might one day be reunited in heaven.  

Wing Yee Chan is survived by her husband, three children, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and extended family. She will be remembered for her strength, determination, generosity, and love for her family. 

The funeral will be held on Saturday, May 17th at Lehman, Reen & McNamara Funeral Home in Brighton, Massachusetts, with viewing beginning at 9:00 a.m., service at 11:00 a.m., and burial at Forest Hill Cemetery by 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to South Cove Manor may be made in her honor.

我們懷著傷心又沉重的心情通知大家，我們摯愛的母親，祖母，曾祖母陳余穎儀於2025年5月7日安祥離世，享年92 嵗。

媽媽生於台山，她是家中三姊弟中的長女。她完成中學學業後，移居香港。在港與丈夫陳瑞生相識相戀而結婚，他們育有三子女。媽媽不單美麗優雅，她喜歡追求完美並且很勤奮。她為自己及家人營造了更美好的生活。在香港期間她創立了自己的服裝出口公司，展現了她的創業精神。移民美國後她努力工作，她曾任製衣工人及餐廳侍應。最終她擁有及經營自己的餐館。退休後她依然保持獨立的積極生活。她在劍橋長者中心當幹事，藉此與社區聯繫，並找到歸屬感。

在晚年，信仰成為媽媽內心安慰與力量。在聖靈的引領及感動下，媽媽於2020年6月28日接受洗禮，成為基督徒。

自她入住中華頣養院後，兒子立揚常常與媽媽一同祈禱並祈望有一天全家能在天上重聚。因為主耶穌應許：凡信祂又跟隨祂的人將得永生的救恩。

她遺下丈夫及三名子女，八名孫兒女，一名曾孫女。

我們會懷念她的堅強，毅力及對人的慷慨施贈，更會思念她對家人的厚愛。

陳余穎儀的告別禮將於2025年5月17日（星期六）在Brighton的Lehman, Reen & McNamara 殯儀舘舉行。早上9時開始瞻仰遺容，11時舉行追思禮拜，然後往Forest Hill 墓園安葬。葬禮後家人將於Quincy 的金源酒家攞設解穢酒。

家人請各親友把買花圈的錢或帛金轉為捐贈中華頤養院，以紀念媽媽陳余穎儀女士。
