Wuji Wang

Dr. Wuji Wang, age 93, of Brighton, passed away at CareOne at Newton on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. He was born in Suzhou of Jiangsu Province in China on June 2, 1932 and was the son of Zhongquan Wang and Guijun Tao. Wuji grew up in his hometown and went to a Christian boarding school Dongwu high school in Suzhou prior to attending Tongji University School of Medicine in 1950.
After earning his medical degree in 1955, he completed specialized training in hematology and went on to devote over 40 years to diagnosing and treating patients with blood disorders. Throughout his distinguished career at various teaching hospitals in Xian Medical School, he was known not only for clinical excellence but also for compassionate care, tireless advocacy, and mentorship of younger physicians. Colleagues and patients admired his unwavering commitment to advancing the field of hematology through both teaching and patient-centered care.
Dr. Wang is survived by three beloved daughters Anlai Wang and her husband Dezhen Zhang of Brighton, Yalai Wang and her husband Guy Medaglia of Illinois, and Wenlai Wang and her husband Xiaomin Wang of New Zealand. He is a proud and loving grandpa of seven grandchildren Catherine Zhang and her husband Ellis Kolber, Kevin Zhang, Kyle Zhang, Frank Peng, Kaitlin Peng, Bowen Wang, and Nancy Wang, and great-grandpa of Asher Kolber. Wuji was predeceased by his wife Zhenkun of 60 years, his father, mother, brother and sister.
Memorial service and interment will be private.
